E onde a tal da reserva de emergência entra nesta história toda? Bem, a reserva de emergência é necessária por algo chamado imprevisto. Como se diz no dia-a-dia: “Imprevistos acontecem”. E acontecem mesmo! Por mais que você se esforce para planejar e prever tudo (eu mesmo sou um freak do planejamento), sempre vai haver uma coisa ou outra que vai fugir do seu controle e vai requerer um dinheirinho (às vezes, dinheirão) pra voltar aos ponteiros. Neste exato momento, a reserva de emergência mostra a sua importância, pois ela impede que você coloque a mão nos seus investimentos no primeiro imprevisto que aparece.

Portanto, o investidor bem preparado que se depara com um imprevisto qualquer, utiliza temporariamente os recursos da reserva de emergência, resolve o problema, repõe a reserva o mais rápido possível e não trisca o dedo em nenhum momento nos seus investimentos. Indo para o lado mais prático da coisa: como montar a sua reserva de emergência?

Caso contrário, a tendência é você misturar as bolas e começar a usar o dinheiro da reserva. Procure uma alternativa que não cobre nenhuma taxa de manutenção e que você possa até mesmo ter um cartão separado para saques ou gastos no débito.

▪  A sua reserva de emergência tem que ter liquidez imediata!
Esqueça fundo DI de liquidez diária, título do tesouro direto, CDB de sei lá o que… Quer saber a real? Coloca esta sua reserva na poupança. Isso mesmo! Poupança. Você tem que ter a possibilidade de acessar imediatamente o dinheiro no caso de um imprevisto, transferindo da sua poupança para outra conta ou indo a um caixa eletrônico e sacando a grana na hora.

▪  Não fique obcecado por rentabilidade.

Reforçando um pouco mais o ponto anterior, que é de fundamental importância não apenas para a reserva de emergência como também para a diversificação, que é outro assunto que trataremos no futuro:

De que adianta manter todos os seus recursos em investimentos com o máximo de retorno possível (supondo que seja possível fazer isso com eficácia ao longo dos anos…) e numa situação de emergência ter que se desfazer deste investimento justamente num momento desfavorável do mercado financeiro?

Entretanto, considerando que este valor da reserva deve estar alocado num investimento de liquidez imediata, como a poupança, normalmente os rendimentos são ínfimos. É o preço que se paga pela liquidez. Não tem almoço de graça no mercado financeiro. Então, considerando o baixo retorno, não é recomendável exagerar muito na dose desta quantidade de meses. Se for um caso em que se requeira realmente consumir um valor maior, como numa situação de perda de emprego que você comentou, aí paciência… Vai ter que colocar a mão na carteira de investimentos!
